O&A Virally Spread Back To Columbus

It's been rumored for a while, but it's now official - CBS Radio/XM syndicated morning team Opie & Anthony are coming back to their second Ohio market.

And like in Cleveland on alt-rock WXRK/92.3, O&A airing on CBS Radio Columbus market rocker WAZU/107.1 "The Big Wazoo" is a return to a former affiliate, and even a return to its former time slot.

AllAccess reports that starting Monday, WAZU will pick up the show for a 3-6 PM delayed airing. The CBS version of the Opie & Anthony show airs live weekdays from 6-9 AM out of flagship WFNY/92.3 New York City.

The O&A gang also adds CBS Radio affiliates in Detroit (morning drive on sports WXYT/1270) and Rochester (another afternoon airing - 2-5 PM - on alt-rock WZNE/94.1 "The Zone @ 94.1") on Monday, with Washington DC FM talker WJFK/106.7 "Free FM" joining up for a midday clearance later this month.

WAZU, like its Cleveland sister station, airs WCKG/Chicago-based "Rover's Morning Glory" with Shane "Rover" French and company...a show which, of course, used to be based at 92.3 here. Rochester's WZNE is also a "Rover" affiliate, which prompts the afternoon airing there for O&A.

Oddly enough, two of the new O&A affiliates will eventually be out of the CBS Radio family. Columbus and Rochester are both on the CBS "we're selling smaller market clusters" list...
